Ms. Mink Colbert has had a life in dance creating original choreography throughout the last five decades, starting in New York City as an independent choreographer, as Director Choreographer of BALLET MINK and as Professor of Dance at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV).  Her choreographic work is described as “balancing gracefully on the borderline between ballet, modern and postmodern dance.”

Dolly  is a member of BALLET MINK and has traveled with the company since 1997 as soloist, costume designer, performing many times in Denmark, Russia, and Scotland and Israel in 2014.  She has danced with Los Angeles Ballet, Houston Ballet, Nevada Dance Theatre and the Zurich Opera Ballet before joining the famed Lido Show at the Stardust Hotel in Las Vegas where she was the principle dancer/ singer and is an Assistant Professor with the UNLV dance department where she teaches ballet and Pilates.  

Shannon Redfield is a native of Portland, Oregon. With a background in rhythmic gymnastics, she danced at the Arts and Communication Magnet Academy before joining the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Dance Department in 2011. Shannon is in her senior year at UNLV and will graduate with her BFA in Performance and Choreography in 2015. She aspires to continue to travel and dance around the world. 

Kaileigh is from the state of Washington where she  trained at The Tri - Cities Academy of Ballet under Debra Rogo.  She was a member of the pre - professional company Mid - Columbia Ballet, an honors company at Regional Dance America. Currently attends UNLV and will graduate with a BFA in dance performance and a minor in Pilates.  Kaileigh looks forward to performing in contemporary ballet.  Her performance with BALLET MINK follows directly on her tour to Germany with UNLV Dance Company.

Ballet Mink, Inc.

 

BALLET MINK was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1980.  Founded in New York, under the name Margot Colbert Dance Company, Inc., the company is currently based in Las Vegas, Nevada.  BALLET MINK features new work and collaborations with musicians, visual artists and writers.  The company performs regularly in New York, Las Vegas and Copenhagen and has toured to Scotland, Russia, France, Slovakia, and Guatemala among other international destinations. 

Sharon Backley
Dancer

Born in 1986 in England, Sharon Backley graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 2007 Before she joined 'Kamea Dance Company' IL, as a leading dancer, working with choreographers such as Tamir Ginz, Eitan Sivak, Lior Lev and more. In 2011 she began working as a freelance dancer with 'Jerusalem Dance Theater' as well as Rotem Tashach, Irad Matzliach and more. In 2013 she joined the 'Israeli Ballet Company'. Today Backley works as a freelance dancer in Tel Aviv.

Sybil Kaplan
Narrator

Sybil Kaplan is a foreign correspondent, book reviewer, and food writer from Overland Park, Kansas. She also created and leads weekly walks in Jerusalem's Jewish produce market, Machaneh Yehudah. She lectures and gives original dramatic readings for Senior Citizen residences on a regular basis.

Pnina Falk, child

Pnina Falk lives in Jerusalem and is 11 years old.  She has acted in five  plays, most recently playing a "Who" in Seussical.  Her other hobbies include singing, dancing, reading, taking care of her pets, and being the youngest in the family.

Kaileigh O’Neill
Dancer

Louis Kavouras was a principal dancer with the Erick Hawkins Dance Company in New York City.  He is a classically trained modern dancer, who received his MFA degree from Case Western Reserve University.  Kavouras has been Chairperson of the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) Department of Dance since 1994.  His training includes dance, choreography, visual art and acting. He is also an active choreographer and visual artist whose work is showcased internationally.
